What is NDIS ?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new approach designed to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, as well as their families and carers in Australia. This program provides financial support to Australians under 65 who have permanent and significant disabilities, enabling them to meet their needs and goals for independent and comfortable living. Participants have direct control over their funding, offering them flexibility and the freedom to choose support that best fits their personal requirements.

The NDIS assists individuals with disabilities by :

▪️ Connecting them to mainstream services and supports such as healthcare and education systems.
▪️ Facilitating access to community services and supports, including local groups, sports clubs and charitable organizations.
▪️ Supporting informal help from family and friends, which is a vital aspect of daily life.
▪️ Providing reasonable and necessary funding to aid in their living expenses and promote an independent and everyday life.
